
Billie J. "B.J." Carman

Billie J. "B.J." Carman died on July 29, 2009 at her home in Hermiston at the age of 65 years. She was born on Jan. 2, 1944 in Albany to parents Hector and Opal Dove Smith.
She was raised and graduated in Nebraska. B.J. has lived in Hermiston for the last 44 years. During that time she had worked as a waitress at Frasus' Restaurant and Granny's for several years. B.J. was a member of the Umatilla Baptist Church and the Hermiston Eagles Lodge No. 2909. She enjoyed camping, sewing, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons: Robert Paris, Ken Paris, and Brian Carman, all of Hermiston; daughters: Lori Carey, Umatilla, Crystal Carman, Hermiston, Wendy Paris Schlink, Phoenix, Ariz., and Tami Marti, South Dakota; husband: Don Carman, Hermiston; brother Kenneth Smith, Toole, Utah; sisters: LaVonne DuBois and Annalee McBride, both of Hermiston; 19 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
B.J. was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life service will be held at noon on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 at the Umatilla Baptist Church, 146 Columbia Blvd.
